The Pink Panther Movie

'Pink Panther' is a series of allied movies. The 93 minutes long film The Pink Panther (2006) released on 2006 stars Kevin Kline, Steve Martin, Jean Reno, Henry Czerny, and Emily Mortimer. The movie was produced by Roberts Symonds and directed by Shawn levy. It is written by Len Blum and Steve Martin.

By watching funnyman Steve martin’s movies one can easily say that he makes bad movies only for monetary benefit. Though he has talent he probably doesn’t seem to use his intelligence in proper place. One can easily write him off from the big screen just as the likes of Chevvy Chase but suddenly he comes back with a bang with the classic 1964 comedy prequel .This movie also misses a audience binding script.

Though Steve tries to be funny, one cannot like to love the beloved inspector Jacques Clouseau the role once played to perfection by peter sellers. The pink panther diamond gets missing from the corpse and France’s chief inspector as Kevin Kline involves Clouseau to investigate the mystery of theft and murder of the renowned soccer coach, owner of diamond.

One can definitely not compare the works of sellers and Clouseau as it would do injustice on each others part. The script does not provide unexpected twists and turns in events. This is the biggest weak point of the movie though Clouseau’s larking about make one laugh. Steve martin should have played his part to perfection since he was expected to bring back the natural charm of peter seller’s lumbering Inspector Clouseau.

Director Shawn Edwards must have made a more enthusiastic approach in making the film as he should have kept in mind the reputation and liking of people regarding the previous pink panther movies. The pace of the movie should have been much more tranquil and much more overtone should have been incorporated as seen in the earlier versions.
